Courage Map: Stories Where They Happened
Coming out rarely happens on a grand stage or during a planned press conference. More often, it happens in ordinary, everyday places: sitting in the passenger seat of a car parked outside a late-night diner, walking through a quiet neighborhood park, or sitting on the steps of a college dorm building after midnight.
At kiki.gay, we are building a street-level map of courage: personal coming-out stories pinned to the real locations where they took place. Knowing that someone else stood in your hometown, at your local bus stop or coffee shop, and found their way to self-acceptance makes the world feel smaller, kinder, and full of possibility.
How to Participate
How to Submit Your Story
Sharing your experience helps another young gay man feel less alone. Submitting your story takes only a few minutes, and you choose how much detail to share.
1. Write Your Moment
Tell us about the day you told someone, came out to yourself, or first felt accepted. Keep it as brief or detailed as you like.
2. Add a Location Pin
Optional: Include the city, neighborhood, or landmark (for example: "Silver Lake, Los Angeles" or "Denny's Parking Lot on Route 9").
3. Email Our Team

Your Privacy Comes First
We treat every personal story with deep respect and care. Submissions are published using first names only or completely anonymously. We review every entry prior to publication to ensure no full names, contact info, or unwanted identifying details are shared. You maintain full ownership of your story and may request revisions or removal at any time.
